About Lauren…

injera-from-my-student.jpgI was living in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to teach English, eat lots of Ethiopian food and hopefully leave a positivie stamp on that corner of the world.  I did that for awhile until I unfortunately was in a bad car accident in mid-February.  I am now back recuperating in Duluth, MN.  Stay tuned!!!

Lauren - Thanks for sending us your new blog address. Sounds like you are doing well an adjusting to a new culture and environment. We miss you (at Women’s Advocates) and are wishing you the best when you start your new teaching job. A new set of 5month old twins came in over the weekend - cuties! Your replacment, Alaena started today. E.T. probably passed on to you…..Alaena just returned from Africa
(Tanzania) and has been working there for the past year as the communication coordinator for a childrens’ shelter that houses homeless children. Ish’t that ironic?

    Hey Laur,
So good to hear from you! You’ve been in my thoughts and prayers! It was so awesome to see you in the airport as you embarked on your journey. Sounds like you are acclamating well. Hehe hearing your stories of internet troubles and mosquito nets definitely reminds me of Africa. Funny the little things that seem so strange at first. By the way, it’s so good to read of how God is providing for you, It is so clear to see that His hands are on you. Well, I hope you have a wonderful day.
    Peace,
    Jess

Hi Lauren- I just read your miraculous story in the Duluth paper. What an amazing example of true faith in Christ! I’m in the process of adopting from Ethiopia and I live abroad. It’s pretty cool to think of me receiving this story all the way in Korea. You are a true inspiration! Blessings,Deborah

Hey Lauren, It’s good to hear about your progress and that you are still so steadfast in your faith!! I am still enjoying the students at Desta Mender. We have now completed the Headway book and have just started into the books that Kristin brought over from the US. The level is a good challenge for them. It’s nice to be able to go out there twice a week, as I am getting to know them much better. We miss you and wish you Go’s blessings in your recovery.
