love your observations! when i called to change our plan (from 1400 minutes to 700 minutes) the lady said, "and did you know that you qualify for a new cell phone today. would you like to upgrade?" and i said, "No thank you." and she was totally stunned, and said, "well.....may i please ask why not?!" and i said, "because my old one works fine." i could tell she hadn't received that answer many times before because she just sort of muttered an "huh."

then again, after seeing my students on their iPhones all weekend, i have to admit- those are pretty cool!

I still have mine that i got in June '05. Well i got another one, but that was stolen and the person decided to have lewd phone and text conversations on it with people in my phone book. I would have to agree that sticking with the old reliable ones is best.
